President's Message
Dr. T. N. Dhananjaya, the Founder President of Akshara International Public School, is a distinguished medical doctor and a self-made educator whose life and vision exemplify dedication, compassion, and service. Emerging from a modest agricultural family, Dr. Dhananjaya faced numerous challenges and instances of discrimination due to his rural background while seeking admission in reputed urban schools. However, guided by resilience and determination, he pursued and attained his dream of becoming a doctor.
Deeply moved by the educational inequities faced by rural communities, Dr. Dhananjaya envisioned creating a learning institution that would provide *quality and affordable education* to rural children—thus preventing the large-scale migration of families to cities in pursuit of education. Inspired by Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam’s philosophy of PURA (Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas), he took the bold initiative of establishing Akshara International Public School in his native Kowdle village, situated 30 kilometers from the nearest town.
Under his visionary leadership, Akshara International Public School was built on the guiding principle *“Learn, Play, and Grow with Nature.”* The institution emphasizes holistic development, nurturing curiosity, creativity, and compassion among students, while fostering a global outlook rooted in strong ethical values.
Dr. Dhananjaya firmly believes that education should be ethical and serve the needs of society, not as a venture for profit. True education should enlighten both the mind and the heart.
Within a remarkably short period, his dedication and foresight have transformed Akshara International Public School into a world-class center for learning. The school has earned recognition for its outstanding student achievements in academics and co-curricular activities, with students securing top ranks in national-level competitions such as NSTSE and English Olympiads, alongside stellar performances in CBSE Board examinations.
The CBSE has acknowledged Akshara as a *Model School* for effectively implementing the National Education Policy (NEP). Today, guided by Dr. Dhananjaya’s values and educational philosophy, the institution stands poised for continued growth and excellence, carving a distinctive niche in the field of holistic rural education.
